F4 and ENF panels, explained

F4, ENF and what they measure

Both ratings describe formaldehyde emission from the board, not the amount of glue used. F4 is the Japanese standard (average 0.3 mg/L or less); ENF is the Chinese national grade, the strictest of its four levels.

For a fitted wardrobe or a full kitchen, this matters more than it does for a single piece of furniture, because the surface area of board in a bedroom can be twenty times larger.

What we specify

Custom panels on Movanz projects are officially authorized and rated at F4 / ENF, with six eco certifications held across the panel range, including CQM, CQTA and SGS test reports.

Boards are also specified for moisture resistance in kitchens, laundries and bathrooms, and edge banding is matched to the face so cut edges do not become the weak point.
